Elsa's, Beach Cove Resort, North Myrtle Beach Condo

Elsa’s, Beach Cove Resort, North Myrtle Beach Condo

Offered by Prista Vacation Rentals

Weeks away from our trip and we decided to add a few more days of fun and relaxation. We went back to the drawing board and that's when we found Elsa’s, at the lovely Beach Cove Resort, offered by Prista Vacation Rentals

The booking process is a bit cumbersome. After several emails and several signatures, it felt as if we were purchasing the beachfront condo rather than renting it. The agreements were so much that it made me a bit uncomfortable. I mean seriously, eleven emails and a ten-page contract are a bit much.

This oceanfront condo is located on the third floor. The third-floor parking garage removes the need to use the elevator and makes loading and unloading a breeze. The condo was perfect, spacious, two TVs, a full kitchen, and Wi-Fi. What more could anyone need except for a beach and a pool?

Well, this place has both. It is located steps from the sand and the resort offers three pools, three hot tubs, and a 350 ft. lazy river. At the time of our visit, the hot tub located in the kid's area was out of service, but we were spoiled by the remaining two.

Everything within the scope of Prista Vacation Rentals was excellent. The condominium was just the right size for a family of three and is very conveniently located to many top tourist attractions in North Myrtle beach. We enjoyed this cozy condo so much that we may put this in our vacation rotation.

Crab Catchers, Little River, SC, Cook what You Catch!!

We finished our deep-sea fishing trip and after giving away some fish we ended up with a couple of pounds of shark and grunt fish. We were in search of a restaurant that would prepare our catch and one of the deckhands recommended Crab Catchers. The location is awesome, it located on the waterfront in Little River, SC. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, where you can eat, sit, drink, and enjoy the view. Unfortunately, we thought is best to sit inside due to the forecast.
Since my wife and I have little experience cooking fish in general and no experience cooking shark we left the preparations up to the chef. He chose to fry the grunt in flavorful cornmeal, and he grilled the shark. Half of the shark he prepared with a Cajun season and the other half in an herbal seasoning. It was all delicious and I cannot say that I preferred one variety over the other.

To cook your catch, they charge a reasonable price. On our visit it was just $10.99 per plate and each plate comes with two sides. Keep in mind that they do not clean the fish in house, you will need to have them cleaned before arriving. We ordered three meals for my family of three and ended up with a huge basket of steaming hot friescorn on the cobmashed potatoes, and coleslaw. We left the restaurant with smiles and full bellies.

Whether you are just passing through or in town for the annual blue crab festival, be sure to stop by Crab Catchers on the waterfront. If you have a deep-sea-fishing trip planned, plan a stop at Crab Catchers for lunch.

We Caught A Shark! - Little River Deep-sea Fishing, North Myrtle Beach

We showed up at Calabash Marina on the morning of our deep-sea fishing Excursion. They asked that we arrive 30 minutes early so breakfast came from a drive-thru window. The check-in process was flawless, since I had our reservations printed, it only took a few minutes to get us checked in.

Once checked in, we boarded the Hurricane II where we were greeted by one of the crew members. He recognized that we had a young fisherman with us, so he offered us a spot in his section of the boat. He assured us that he would help my son out as needed, which was nice because I was trying to figure things out for myself. Since this was our first deep-sea fishing excursion, we opted for the half-day trip. The captain did a wonderful job, he kept us on fish all morning and we moved to a new location each time it slowed down.
All of the deckhands were knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. In addition to being able to identify many of the different fish species, they were also quick to assist with removing fish, adding bait, and fixing tangles. Since you will be spending the better part of your day at sea, the onboard crew members play a huge part in the overall experience. I cannot say enough about these guys, they really made this a memorable experience.

My wife ended up catching the largest fish of the morning and won the fish pool for biggest fish. She managed to reel in a Sharp Nose shark that was just under 4ft in length. When we returned to the dock one of the deckhands cleaned our keepers. They do not charge for this service, but keep in mind that they do accept tips. We gave several of our fish away to other passengers who were not as lucky. When all was said and done, we were able to take a few pounds of shark and grunt fish over to Crabcatchers restaurant where they will cook your catch. Neither my wife nor I had ever had the opportunity to try shark. The shark was delicious, but we enjoyed the flakey, white meat of the Grunt even more.
Everything about Little River Fishing Fleet is top-notch. They provided my family with a unique deep-sea fishing experience that we will never forget. If you have never been deep-sea fishing, I highly recommend going. If you are in North Myrtle, I highly recommend Little River Fishing fleet.
